I get 134 ping + in any tex, atl, chi servers i go into now. I used to get almost 66 straight in chi's, 66-100 in tex, and 100 straight in atl. I've: -upgraded modem (free swap out) -uninstalled anti-virus to see if that was the issue -restarted my router + modem a million times -called comcast to have them test my connection, they said it was fine and there were no problems -reinstalled halo -made sure there are no other background programs running -ran a Disk Clean up -Gone to pingtest.net and speedtest.net and my results are good The weird thing about the issue is, when I play source, I ping to chicago servers, texas servers, the way I should be. I get around 66-76 ping in chi/dallas in source. But in halo i'll get 134+, and I've tested several halo servers -_- Any suggestions on what else I could do to fix the issue? Im out of ideas |

you said pingtest and other games are good - u probably need to fix your settings on the new modem to optimize quality try tracerouting to the servers where u lag, as well as pinging them Edited by HPT--1, May 11 2010, 03:31 PM.

My suspicion is that theres something wrong with your particular connection's routing to gameservers, and since practically all halo servers these days are gameservers you're getting high ping in halo alone. Ping some servers, and be sure to test with nfos as well to see if you get decent ping there. |

Port forwarding most likely then, pinging doesnt go through 2302, thats the most logical explanation. |

get CFOSSpeed or some other client bandwidth throttling, this may be an issue only with UDP transfers on your machine |

Halo has ping presets, just remember that. You might have 4 ping to a server, but halo will say 33/34 etc. Same deal if you ping 45 to a server, halo might have you in the 66/67 bracket etc. |

That doesn't explain when i go to my command prompt, do a ping test to a server and it tells me 64 ping is my maximum ping to that server. Then I go in it and I get 167 ping. Doesn't add up |

So, this shit has started up again. I'll ping from my computer to a texas server and it says I should get 67. I'll load up halo go into the server, and I get 134 straight and warp. This is only happening in halo. When I go into a texas server in Source, I ping how I should. Anyone have any more ideas on what's going on? I've called comcast but they aren't of much help. |
